Bio

Hello, I am Kateley Dare May, a current student aspiring to be a CPA after graduation. I will graduate from Virginia Wesleyan College in May of 2017 in high academic standing and with 150 semester hours. My current goal is to begin working in public accounting immediately after graduation and to begin studying for the CPA exam. I have a strong interest to work in public accounting as well as financial services. After working in public accounting for a certain amount of years, I plan to study law and take the bar exam. I have always been very interested in studying the law and feel that a law degree will make me more valuable to my client base.

I communicate well with people and enjoy serving customers. In the past, I have excelled in sales positions because of my communication and product/service knowledge. My strong ability to listen, retain and self teach make me confident in regards to starting a career. My excelling performance and interest in accounting, as well as attending the VSCPA's Leaders Institute in 2015, confirmed my decision to start a career path in public accounting.

At Virginia Wesleyan, I am currently the Chief Operational Officer for the Marlin Business Association and a member of a dance team. I also spend time volunteering in Global Marlins, which provides free tutoring to children in need, as well as assisting animals in need. In 2016, I was inducted into the honors society for my major, which is Sigma Beta Delta.
