Bio

Actuarial Benefits & Design Company – an organization that assists small business to establish and monitor retirement income goals via retirement plan compliance with federal tax laws and proper disclosure to government agencies. AB&D creates the ideal retirement plan design to meet compensation objectives. Lisa founded AB&D in 1989 with Debra D. D. Coyner, JD, CPA.

Coyner & Germano a boutique law firm serving business owners, horse enthusiasts and professional athletes. Lisa co-founded C&G in 1987 with Debra D. D. Coyner. Lisa co-founded the Joan Grossmann Fegely Foundation in 2009 to raise awareness and research funds for ovarian cancer. In 2011, Lisa co-founded Rapids Baseball, Incorporated whose mission is to create public-private partnerships to enhance public school education and youth development. In her professional life and through her volunteer work, Lisa provides leadership and entrepreneurship mentoring to nonprofits, students, and business professionals.

Lisa has served multiple years on the board of directors and has chaired numerous high level committees for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Internal Revenue Service (appointed by IRS Commissioner Shulman). She currently serves on the faculty for the IRS EP/EO 2014 Joint Council meeting, co-chairs the Mid-Atlantic Liaison Group and is the 2014 and 2015 Tax Chair of the AICPA National Employee Benefits Conference. She is a Senior Adviser to the AICPA National Financial Literacy Commission and is immediate past Chair of the Board of Directors for the VSCPA. In 2015, Lisa received the Arthur J. Dixon Memorial Award for her AICPA service.

Lisa is a speaker and author of two coursebooks and numerous articles relating to retirement plans, leadership, nonprofit leadership as well as financial literacy. She was a contributing Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Pension Benefits and a former editor of the Pension Plan Administrator. Lisa contributed to the 2012 book Save Happily, Spend Wisely: Real Stories About Money and How to Thrive from Trusted Advisers.
