I am a non-traditional student with over 12 years of business experience in administration, reporting/analysis, office management, and process management. In order to facilitate my transition to the accounting profession, I am currently enrolled in the Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate program at Virginia Commonwealth University (150+ credits upon graduation, est. Dec. 2018). I’m hopeful that the successful completion of this program will complement my Bachelor of Science in Finance and MBA, both also from Virginia Commonwealth University. Through research and several discussions with practitioners in the field, I’ve identified my area of interest as tax accounting. I do appreciate the insight I’ve gained concerning other areas of accounting (i.e. audit, forensic accounting, business valuation).
In my personal time, I enjoy gardening, exercising, cooking, seeking out new adventures (i.e. flying trapeze classes, hang gliding, etc.), writing, painting, traveling and spending time with my family. I am very new to this field and look forward to developing in and contributing to the profession.
