In Search For: Treasurer/Chair of Finance Committee
Position Description: The Dream Project is seeking a new board member who will serve as the Treasurer and be the chair of the Finance Committee. The Treasurer oversees the financials of the organization and briefs the board on the financial health of the organization. Board members serve a three-year term and officers are elected to two-year terms.
Qualifications/Requirements: The Treasurer should have prior experience in financial management in the nonprofit and/or business sector. Understanding of financial statements is required. Prior board experience is helpful, but not required.
Meetings: During the year, the board has five two-hour meetings on the 4th Monday of the month and a retreat on the fourth Sunday of the month for 5 hours. As chair of the Finance Committee, the Treasurer holds monthly meetings with the committee members.
