Description:
The Technology & Innovation Advisory Council provides strategic guidance to the VSCPA Board of Directors and members on technology initiatives within the accounting profession. Recognizing the rapid advancement of technology and its impact on CPAs, the Council focuses on programs, resources and knowledge sharing efforts to assist in leveraging emerging technologies in the workplace. By offering insights and expertise, the Council helps drive the VSCPA's commitment to transform the profession by staying at the forefront of innovative technologies.
Sub-Committees: Sub-committees assigned as needed.
What Volunteers Gain:
Volunteers will gain leadership experience, insights into emerging trends, and the opportunity to shape the future of Virginia’s accounting profession through innovations in technology.
Volunteers Needed: 15
Term Limits & Renewal: Standard one year volunteer terms with renewal based on contribution and interest.
Time Commitment:
· 3-4 virtual meetings per year
· Additional time for completing special assignments or Council projects
Required Experience:
Mid-career to senior professionals with experience in technology or desire to be involved in activities that promote technology in the CPA profession
Responsibilities:
· Advise the VSCPA Board and staff on strategic direction for the VSCPA’s technology and innovation education and resources.
· Offer insights on trends in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, automation and advanced analytics.
· Assist in developing programs and partnerships to support the VSCPA’s technology-related efforts and initiatives.
· Promote and participate in VSCPA volunteer activities as needed.
