The VCPA DEI Advisory Council’s mission is to advise the VSCPA Board of Directors and staff on programs and policies related to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice; engage with leaders, schools and other stakeholders to increase students of color entering the CPA profession; and identify resources to educate members and their organizations on creating and nurturing a deep sense of belonging for all CPAs.
The Council creates up to three task forces each year and are designed to support VSCPA top goals.

What volunteers gain: DEI-focused volunteering can create meaningful change by breaking down barriers, amplifying marginalized voices, fostering collaboration, and raising awareness.
Volunteers needed: Up to four.
Term limits and renewals: one-year terms, but eligible for renewal for up to three years
Time commitment: 12+ hours per year; 3 Council meetings per year (2 in-person, 1 virtual); additional time based on task force projects or other outreach.
