The VSCPA Pathways & Belonging Council's mission is to work alongside the VSCPA Board of Directors and staff on programs and policies that promote inclusion, access, and a strong sense of belonging within the profession; engage with leaders, schools, and other stakeholders to expand pathways for students to pursue careers as CPAs; identify resources to help members and their organizations create and sustain welcoming environments where all CPAs can thrive; and create opportunities to impact the profession and our communities.
The Council may, as needed, establish task forces aligned with the VSCPA’s yearly goals and strategic initiatives.

What volunteers gain: Volunteers serving on the Council gain the chance to make a real impact on the profession by promoting inclusion and belonging, connecting with peers and leaders who share their passion, and growing their own leadership skills through meaningful, collaborative work.
Volunteers needed: Up to four.
Term limits and renewals: one-year terms, but eligible for renewal for up to three years.
Time commitment: 12+ hours per year; 3 Council meetings per year (1 in-person, 2 virtual); additional time based on task force projects or other outreach.
