The Corporate Accounting Peer Learning Group is a peer networking community designed for professionals in corporate accounting roles. This group provides a platform for members to engage in strategic conversations, build a supportive community, and collaborate on creating meaningful content relevant to corporate accounting. The group fosters networking and professional growth among peers through quarterly virtual meetings and events.

What Volunteers Gain:   

Volunteers will have the opportunity to lead discussions, connect with peers, and shape the focus of quarterly programs and activities for the Corporate Accounting Networking Group, enhancing their leadership and networking skills in a collaborative environment. 

 

Volunteers Needed: 5-10 

 

Term Limits & Renewal:   

Standard volunteer terms apply, with renewal based on individual contribution and interest. 

 

Time Commitment  

  • Quarterly one-hour virtual planning meetings   

  • Attendance and active involvement in quarterly virtual networking programs   

  • Additional time for reviewing materials and developing content for group activities.   

 

Required Experience:   

Professionals with several years of experience in corporate accounting who are looking to collaborate with peers and contribute to the growth of a supportive community. 

 

Responsibilities:   

  • Volunteers play an essential role in fostering engagement and community among corporate accounting professionals by: 

  • Leading strategic discussions and providing input for quarterly programming   

  • Helping to develop relevant, engaging content for group members.   

  • Building a welcoming environment to support and encourage participation from a diverse group of corporate accountants.   

  • Working with VSCPA staff to promote group activities and maintain member engagement.   

 

Committee Member Role & Expectations:   

Committee members are expected to: 

  • Actively participate in planning meetings and quarterly programs, bringing thoughtful input and focusing on the best interests of the group and VSCPA members   

  • Collaborate to develop resources, topics, and programs that are relevant to corporate accounting professionals.   

  • Support a positive community environment, encouraging new members to engage and network.   

  • Respond to communications promptly and represent the group in other VSCPA meetings as requested.
