The VSCPA launched a new strategic framework in May 2017 (VSCPA2025). One of our key strategies is a commitment to drive innovation and vision – providing information and resources to empower members to lead and drive CPA relevancy through innovation. The focus of this initiative includes: 

  • Technology: Help members adapt to, embrace and leverage rapidly changing technologies
  • Talent: Help members develop leadership skills and grow knowledge of global trends to build a thriving workplace of the future 

To help address the technology education needs, the VSCPA will launch a brand new Technology Showcase in Fall 2019 to expose busy accounting and financial professionals to new technologies to facilitate growth, increase productivity and keep connected in their business. Attendees will be offered educational opportunities, interactive demos, and time to engage with the solution providers who are shaping the future of accounting technology. We need your help to identify and secure the best technologies and companies for all of our members!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction for the development of the Technology Showcase
  • Identify key technologies, resources and companies to exhibit, demo and present at the Showcase
  • If appropriate, reach out to these companies and recruit them to participate
  • Champion and help build awareness of the Technology Showcase

Commitment: 

  • Kick off video conference call – TBD
  • As needed video conference calls (1 hour) – Dates TBD
  • Active participation/discussion in the Council’s Connect online community, as needed
  • Active outreach leading up to the Technology Showcase to identify and secure vendors
  • Read and digest background materials, as provided
  • Free attendance to the Technology Showcase

Council Member criteria:

  • 10 – 15 members
  • Variety of firm sizes in public & corporate finance
  • Has contacts with technology vendors
  • Enthusiastic about technologies and innovation

Planning a conference
Small Project (up to 40 hours total)

Volunteers Needed:

15 (8 open slots)
