Mission Statement
Through Disclosures, the VSCPA’s quarterly magazine, the Editorial Task Force provides Virginia CPAs with professional and technical guidance, updates on state and national issues affecting CPAs and other information of educational and/or professional value.
Members
The VSCPA Editorial Task Force consists of nine to 12 VSCPA members devoted to increasing the quality of content delivered to Virginia CPAs in Disclosures magazine. All members will serve for one-year terms; multiple terms will be considered for those providing exceptional service. Term service is generally three consecutive years. Service will be conducted during the VSCPA’s fiscal year.
Roles
- Establish editorial calendar.
- Suggest content and article ideas.
- Submit content and articles.
- Help determine ways to receive more member feedback.
- Provide assistance to the managing editor as needed.
Responsibilities
- One in-person or virtual meeting is held in the late fall or winter of every year to determine the editorial calendar for the coming year. All members of the Task Force are expected to attend or dial in.
- Content and article ideas should be suggested during the meeting, but open communication with the managing editor throughout the year for ideas is encouraged.
- During his or her term, every Task Force member must submit one article for Disclosures magazine.
- Task Force members may be called upon to review magazine features.
- Task Force members should be open and willing to contribute advice and assistance to the managing editor providing requests are reasonable and in advance.
