Retired Principal in the firm of Clifton LarsonAllen LLP (formerly with Schreiner, Legge & Company which joined LarsonAllen LLP in 2008 and then Clifton Gunderson and Larson Allen combined firms January 2012); David was responsible for the audits or examinations of close to one hundred credit unions located in the eastern United States each year. He still is directly licensed to practice in fourteen states including Virginia, and reciprocal licensed in many others. He has over thirty -five years of extensive experience in credit union consulting and auditing .David was also previously responsible for the local office tax, estate and trust work, and supported the non-profit and homeowners association industries. In his new position as CEO of the LeggeGroup, he plans to give back to the credit union community (especially smaller credit unions) by being a resource to assist in policy writing, compliance management, problem resolution related to NCUA findings, and internal control and supervisory committee structure. The LeggeGroup will also help CUSO's with business planning and service offerings to enable more smaller credit unions to take advantage of their services. He currently serves as the Chairman of the audit committee and is a member of the governance committee for the Girl Scout Council of the Nations Capital GSCNC. He had many years of continual service on several AICPA Credit Union Committee Task Forces, including as the only credit union representative on the AICPA Combined Audit Guide Task Force. He has been published in National trade journals on fraud, lease accounting, health care taxation and most recently a series on Bit coin. David will also continue to write and lecture on fraud in credit unions in an effort to provide more awareness of preventive measures .
